Check before you haul or release
Free, practical tools for carriers, owner-operators and brokers. Use them in the cab or in the office.
These free tools are here to help you make your own decisions, not to make them for you. They show what public records say, and records can be wrong, out of date or missing. A warning sign doesn't mean a company is doing anything wrong, and no warning signs doesn't mean it's safe. Always verify before you dispatch, book or release a load. Terms of Use
- Carrier and broker lookupEnter an MC or USDOT number to see FMCSA authority, insurance, authority age, recent changes and address checks. Compare the phone and email you were given with the record.
- Rate confirmation checkerPaste or upload a rate con. It pulls out the MC, phones, emails and payment lines, checks them against FMCSA and points out things to verify.
- Cargo theft hotspot mapWhere CargoNet’s public reports say theft is concentrated, by state and area, with safer-stop tips.
- Pickup checklistA printable sheet for shippers, warehouses and receivers to confirm the driver, truck and paperwork before releasing a load.
- Legit load checklist18 questions before you book a load or send a truck.
All of these are free and work on a phone in the cab or a computer in the office. They read public records and help you decide what to check. They are not a guarantee about any company. Looking for paid vetting and tracking products? See the tools directory.
