Rate confirmation checker
Paste or upload a rate con. We pull out the numbers, phones, emails and payment terms, check them against FMCSA, and show you what to verify before you haul.
These free tools are here to help you make your own decisions, not to make them for you. They show what public records say, and records can be wrong, out of date or missing. A warning sign doesn't mean a company is doing anything wrong, and no warning signs doesn't mean it's safe. Always verify before you dispatch, book or release a load. Terms of Use
Your document stays on your device
The rate confirmation is read in your browser. It is not uploaded or saved. Only the MC or USDOT numbers found in it, and the part of an email address after the @, are sent to our server to look up FMCSA's public records.
What this checks, and what it cannot
- It finds the MC and USDOT numbers, phone numbers, emails, broker and carrier names, pickup and delivery, the rate and the payment lines.
- For each MC or USDOT number it runs the same checks as the lookup: authority and status, insurance on file, authority age, recent changes, the address, the phone on file and the email domain.
- It compares the phone numbers in the document with the FMCSA phone on file, and the company name in the document with the FMCSA name for that number.
- It points out wire transfer, gift card or payment-app requests, rushing language, quick-pay pressure, changed bank details, and a remit-to name that differs from the broker.
- It reads text with simple patterns, so it can miss or misread details on unusual layouts. Check what it found against the document.
- It cannot tell you whether the person who sent the rate con works for that company. Call back on the number in the official record.
Cargo Theft Watch is not FMCSA. Results come from FMCSA's public records and are things to check, not a finding about any company. PDF reading uses Mozilla's open-source pdf.js, hosted on this site.
